St. Dominic Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. As a faith-based institution committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of our students, we are looking for a passionate individual who can inspire our students to lead healthy, active lifestyles while incorporating Catholic values into their physical education curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging physical education lesson plans that align with the diocesan and state curriculum and educational standards.
• Instruct students in a variety of physical activities and sports, fostering their physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and encouraged to participate.
• Incorporate Catholic values and principles into physical education lessons, helping students understand the importance of good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for oneself and others.
• Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
• Be willing to organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams or fitness clubs, to further enhance students' physical abilities and interests.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on students' performance, progress, and any concerns or achievements.
• Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in physical education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and resources into lessons.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field desired but not required.
• Relevant teaching certification or licensure preferred.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a similar role or with elementary and/or middle school students.
• Deep understanding of Catholic teachings and the ability to integrate them into the physical education curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of physical fitness principles, sports, and various physical activities suitable for different age groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to students' diverse learning needs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and execute lessons, assessments, and extracurricular activities.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
